The newest affiliated site, Fleming Island Center for Clinical Research, opened in the Summer of 2009. The site includes a mix of experienced staff and investigators -- with over 30 years of combined clinical trial knowledge -- and new, motivated investigators in the areas of asthma, diabetes, insomnia, and cardiovascular disease.
Clinpage interviews Dr Michael J. Koren... Finding interest in JCCR’s business model, Dr. Koren explains how investigators are invited to buy stock in the company in order to truly get involved in clinical research. The doctor-owned status gives JCCR more clout than other stand-alone commercial sites. Partner physicians must open their practice databases to the sites and this in turn allows for fast enrollment in trials.

Michael J. Koren, MD, FACC, CEO of Jacksonville Center for Clinical Research, was proud to be the guest editor of the December 2008 issue of The Monitor magazine. On the 30th anniversary of the Belmont Report, Dr. Koren invited leaders in the clinical research industry to focus on subject protection and related topics. Dr. Koren is the Vice-President for Ethics and Professional Conduct for the Academy of Pharmaceutical Physicians and Investigators.

The 9th Annual Clinical Research Training for Physicians is scheduled for November 2010, in downtown Jacksonville. The program provides continuing medical education credit designed to develop strong, knowledgeable and effective clinical trial investigators. Click here to access more information.
Affiliated sites host periodic educational “Lunch-and-Learns” for volunteers and other interested people in the community. Investigators speak on a wide range of topics designed to educate patients about chronic disease processes and participation in clinical trials.
